Ad Dhahirah Governorate is the western interior of northern Oman, toward the UAE and the sands. Ibri is the main town. Dhank and Yanqul are its other published wilayats. Al Buraimi is a separate governorate, not part of this one.

Ad Dhahirah sits west of the interior mountains. Ibri is the principal oasis town and the area of the UNESCO sites of Bat, Al-Khutm, and Al-Ayn. Dhank is the desert wilayat farther west. Yanqul, to the north of Ibri, is known for its copper-mining country.
The published wilayats are Wilayat Dhank, Wilayat Ibri and Wilayat Yanqul.
